i am not much of a holiday person, never have been, but i have to say this thanksgiving was a pretty good one. it was my very first hosting my own dinner, and aside from once mistakenly grabbing a pan fresh out of the oven without mitts it went off without a hitch.
out west my grandfather antagonized my mother by deciding the thanksgiving table was the best time to clean his gun. my grandfather has always had a perverse sense of humour, and in recent years has also had a little dementia. you never can be to sure how much of either you are getting when he pulls stunts like that. either way my mother was not amused. once the gun was taken apart and cleaned my grandfather was unable to remember how to put it back together, so it looks like my mom had the last laugh afterall.
