i had a chance to redeem myself for not stepping up with christopher by socializing a stray kitten we trapped at the dump. it was just an ity bity thing and was so miserable when we brought her home. her eyes were all red and gooey and she cried all the time. it was really amazing that in just 10 days she was fat and healthy and no longer afraid. she had taken the run of the bedroom, to the point of driving the bigger cats out. it was so funny to watch this teeny thing get up on all her toes and arch her back and hiss, she was so tough. the only drawback was the smell, who knew something so little could poop so much. if this is a fration of what human babies do you can keep them. in the end i knew i had done well, she had gone from a scaredy cat and by the end of her stay was sleeping in the bed right under my neck. it was hard to let her go, i am pretty certain she will go to a good home, but there is always that doubt...i feel like if i had her, i would always know she was ok, but how many cats can any one person have. if i kept every cat i saved i would quickly be over run. leonor fini had 23 cats, but she was a rich eccentric artist and could get away with things like that. i am an artist and i am probably eccentric, but i am sure not rich and those little buggers can be expensive to feed.
speaking of fini, i am just about to try and buy my first piece of hers...wish me luck.
i am also thinking of starting to sell some of my stuff. if anyone is interested in prints please let me know...
